Student United Way Campaign
Students from SAS - Kendall put great effort in this year's United Way campaign. The members from student government came up with fun ideas to make donating fun. We had the regular room to room donation collection for one week. Then we had a day were the students who donated to the United Way were able to participate on a water balloon fight. The students were so excited about chasing each other around, it was great to see and easy to join in on the fun. Then we had a homeroom competition for one week and Dr. Johnson's homeroom won with a total of $215.03 for the week. The last week of campaigning, the students decided to have a Scavenger Hunt. For one hour the students who donated had to get into groups and try to take pictures with the following; 5 Statues found on Campus, a broken microwave, a car without a parking decal, a professor, behind a cash register, at the basketball court, at the art gallery, Oppa Gangnam style inside the parking garage and imitating a tree on MDC. The kids took this as a great adventure around Campus. They were running all over the school trying to be the first group to finish. We were so happy to have raised $66.00 with this activity. The students had tons of fun and had plenty of pictures to share. Look at our gallery for pictures of these events.
Our total collection was $610.81 for the duration of our campaign. I would personally like to thank the parents who donated and the students who donated and participated in one way or another. This would not have been such a success without your support.
